The Franklin Regional High School Sax Quartet is an extra-curricular ensemble. The group performs a wide range of repertoire, including classical, holiday, patriotic, pop, and jazz selections.
The quartet has performed for numerous community groups and a variety of school functions, but has also gained a reputation for excellence that extends beyond the local community. In 2006 they performed at the Carnegie for Forbes Regional Hospital's Annual Gala. For the past two years they have entertained patrons at the Benedum prior to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater's productions of The Nutcracker. In 2007 they were invited to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association's All-State Conference in Hershey. In April of 2008 they performed a jazz rendition of the national anthem prior to the Pirates-Reds game at PNC Park. They will perform the anthem again before the Washington Wild Things baseball game on June 15.
This year's quartet is comprised of Chris Jenko (alto), Cameron Louttit (alto), Garrett Boyd (tenor), and Marissa Ferry (bari).
